Plant-based ‘Alive Fest’ hits Gosford on Saturday April 30

With environmental concerns being front-of-mind for so many, Alive Fest offers us an opportunity to explore one way that we can reduce our impact.

Gosford-based Alive Fest will take place on Saturday, 30th April, with a huge range of stalls, live music and more. The event is organised by Vegan NSW, a community charity with a vision to inspire, support and grow the vegan movement – a way of living that removes our reliance on any product that is animal-derived or animal-based.

We’re so excited for all of the food.

The event will take place in Kibble Park, on the corner of Donnison Street and Henry Parry Drive in Gosford – and entry is free. Stalls will showcase savoury vegan food, sweet treats, beverages, home and beauty products and related charities, with plenty of educational stalls, too.

Arts and crafts will keep the whole family entertained.

Local and regional artists will perform throughout the day, which will run from 9am until 4pm. There will also be guest speakers, yoga classes and other events that are yet to be announced.

Our furry friends are welcome, too.

Event Program Manager, Glenn Fraser (he/him) and his team are excited to bring this event to the Coast. “Alive Fest is one of the first large public events to welcome Central Coast locals back out into the community again”, he says.

“We want to demonstrate that by gathering the tastiest plant-based food providers and the most exquisite, cruelty-free health and body experiences, that the Central Coast is hungry to explore and learn more about the best that an environmentally-conscious day out can offer.”

Live entertainment and young talent will also be on display.

Bring your mates, your dog and your picnic rug – BYO cups, cutlery and containers are also encouraged, but not mandatory. Almost 100% of the food and drink packaging and utensils will be able to be composted in the green bins on the day.

Endless sweet and savoury treats will be on offer.

If you’re keen to help out with any aspect of the day, you can register with Better Impact here. For updates on the event, head over to their Facebook page. You can also follow Alive Fest on Instagram, visit their website or sign up to their newsletter.
