Glamping: Umina Beach

Beach glamping has arrived on the Coast, with NRMA Ocean Beach Holiday Park becoming the first to bring the luxury camping trend to our shores.

Launching in time for the spring school holidays, eight bell tents have popped up at the beachfront resort.

Nestled amongst leafy surrounds, the tents look pretty as a picture lined up along the creek’s edge, a hop and a skip from the sand at Umina Beach.

The spacious canvas tent is a cosy and comfortable home for up to four people.

Guests are welcomed into their Glampr Luxury Camping Suite with some pretty bunting, a cushy rug, a palette table and three beds (one queen and two singles) all made with fresh white linens.

Festoon lighting and a couple of LED lanterns are all you need for night lights, and a string of fairy lights add a touch of magic.

A couple of deck chairs out front are the best seats in the house, offering uninterrupted creek, sea or star views, depending on the time of day.

Glamping guests have access to their own communal space with a VIP marquee erected on the grass near the creek.

The star tent comes complete with low pallet style tables, rugs, plush cushions and more fairy lights.

The beds and pillows are so comfortable, it’s easy to forget the ground is only a few inches away.

Light sleepers will want to take advantage of the eye mask and ear plugs that are provided for each guest. While the sound of waves crashing nearby makes for a soothing lullaby, there’s a lot of other noises throughout the night that can disrupt sleep.

It is camping after all, just on a much more luxurious scale.

The Ocean Beach Resort has everything glampers could need with a cafe, store, water park, pools, spa and camp kitchen.

There’s also top notch coffee and food a short stroll away at Jasmine Greens kiosk and the beach is always beckoning for a long walk, surf, swim, paddle or just some fun in the sun.

While the spring pop-up is only running until October 14, 2019, keep an eye out for more glamping experiences in the future.
