The Central Coast Life & Style team are excited to release the latest edition of our print magazine, with local surf prodigy Molly Picklum on the cover. At just 19, Molly has achieved more in the past few years of her junior career than most of us will manage in a lifetime. With a swag of titles and a berth in the 2021 World Surf League Challenger Series already behind her, we can’t wait to see what this year holds for Molly.

Molly’s story offers a great intro for an issue filled with plenty of personality, inspiration and style. We introduce an exciting ‘Spotlight’ feature that is the first of many, highlighting the incredible achievements and passions of local changemakers. This season, you can read about artist and muralist, Grant Molony, world-renowned sculptor, Gaby Porter, and passionate doctor, Ash Bowden (you may know him as ‘Doctor Do More’).

We also showcase some stunning seasonal looks from local fashion designer, Weave, who is also the founder of Ukiyo Co, alongside designs by the likes of Aryele The Label, Lèmim, Koukla by Natasha Prestidge and Lisa Carney Jewellery. Also included are fragrances from SŚAINT and a selection of styles available at Miki Finn.

For the foodies, we cover the re-opening story of the heritage-listed Hotel Gosford and its incredible evolution since opening in 1926. After an 18-month renovation, the venue is a far cry from the pub it once was – its new look is moody and oozing with class, with a bar and restaurant menu to match.

We also take a peek into The (new) Cowrie, Terrigal’s classic ocean-view restaurant. One of our favourite chefs, Dmitris Aronis, is now at the helm as owner and executive chef. Five-course degustation dinners are now a monthly feature, with the entire menu embracing local and sustainable produce.

In the spirit of the new year, we’ve also included our guide to the top local spots where you can kick off your fitness plans for the new year in our ‘Train, Play, Recover’ feature. From surf schools to gyms, golf clubs to sailing and pilates to physio, you’re guaranteed to find your perfect fitness routine right here.

The issue is packed with plenty more, including your guide to eating in trendy Long Jetty, the Escapes section showcasing some of the best holiday homes on the Coast, and the Book Club Extra with a focus on the phenomenal Martin Hudak. The Central Coast’s inaugural writers’ festival, Words on the Waves, also gets a mention, as does our favourite Dolce Vita Skin and buyers agent Cesca Greene.
