Award-winning steak at the Railway Hotel Gosford

Rumoured to serve up the best steak on the coast and owned by the one and only John Singleton, The Railway Hotel Gosford is very quickly making a name for itself.

Replacing The Bon Pavillion restaurant on Mann Street, Singo’s latest Central Coast venture is set below his Bonython high-end apartment tower in the heart of Gosford. Completely re-imagined (although the famous spiral staircase remains), the new venue is down-to-earth, with a thoughtfully curated menu designed by head chef Brad Bates.

Offering weekly hotel happy hours, weekend live music, Sunday roasts and even a dedicated seniors section on the menu, the Railway Hotel is a place where old meets new, designed to blend the best of Australian history with contemporary flair and good old-fashioned service.

The focus is on flavour – fine cuts of succulent meat, juicy burgers, slow-cooked ribs and reimagined pub classics like the Surf ‘n’ Turf, made with tempura prawns, zingy lemon and pepper squid, Jack’s Creek New York strip, crisp salad, shoestring fries and your choice of sauce (yes please).

The restaurant has partnered with local suppliers to source fresh, seasonal produce, promising paddock to plate through their quality cuts of meat cuts with premium beef sourced from Tamworth-based Jack’s Creek, who took home three gold medals last year in the ‘World’s Best Steak’ competition.

As well as great food, the venue features an enormous 2.5m wide x 4.5m high LED TV screen (apparently the biggest on the coast) and a brand new 360-degree bar with 20 tap beers, extensive wine list and delicious cocktail list.

Knock off work early for Happy Hour every Monday to Friday, 2.30pm – 5.30pm for $5 tap beers, house wines or bubbles and $12 for cocktails.

On Sunday’s, exquisite Jack’s Creek MS4+ rump cap, garlic, and rosemary potatoes, sauteed veggies, Yorkshire pudding and beef gravy are available for $29 for lunch or dinner.

The Railway Hotel is doing a Fathers Day Shout this Sunday the 4th September, where all dads receive a complimentary tap beer or house wine with every shared platter for $50. Choose from the Ultimate Rib ‘n’ Wings Combo, Railway Hotel Meat Feast or The Surf ‘n’ Turf. You can book a spot here.

The new Railway Hotel, 159 Mann Street, Gosford, is now open 7 days a week. Follow their Facebook and Instagram for the latest updates.
