Luxurious Coworking Space, The Studio Co, Opens in Kincumber

Meisha Strykowski, the CEO of luxury candle company Cocolux Australia, had already been dreaming of the perfect Central Coast co-working space well before 2020 came along and turned our lives upside down…

When the dust started to settle and the time was right, Meisha took her idea for ‘The Studio Co’ to her similarly ambitious friend, Megan Rose – Founder and Managing Director of PR & talent hub, The Connect Agency. Both busy mums running successful world-class businesses from the Central Coast for over 10 years, Meisha and Megan deeply value the lifestyle that working on the Coast has allowed them and their families. With strong local networks, they also recognise the importance of connection, community and collaboration in their businesses. They conceded that between them, they had the complementary skill sets required to curate and create a workspace that would ease the increased pressure and sense of isolation that working from home can bring.

The event space.

And so began months of building, painting and creating. Created with community at its core, The Studio Co. finally opened earlier this year in Kerta Road, Kincumber. It’s the Central Coast’s first boutique collaborative space, re-engaging community, professionals and creatives in a luxurious environment.

Design

When we checked out the space this week for the first time, we were absolutely blown away. A designer and creative director, Meisha has designed the fit-out in line with current international trends – think curves, natural materials and finishes, and a neutral colour palette. The result is a stunning oasis featuring scalloped and curved privacy screens, travertine desks and surfaces, and ample foliage to ensure that all guests feel calm and inspired. There is also an abundance of natural light, however warm, bright lamps are also supplied in several of the desk spaces if you prefer a bit of extra glow.

The workspaces.

The studio is available for a multitude of other purposes, and offers more than one space in which to work. With a large event space, both quiet and communal work areas, as well as meeting rooms and a photography studio, The Studio Co. has all bases covered.

There is also a fully-equipped kitchen with glass-front refrigerators, a gold sink (you heard us), full induction cooktop, large oven and so much more. There’s no need to bring your cutlery or crockery either, which we found to be a thoughtful and convenient touch. The bathrooms are similarly impressive – with more gold tapware – and had us feeling especially fancy.

More of the event space (which you can also hang out in when it’s not booked).

Flexibility

The team give you the freedom to choose what co-working looks like for you – from a one-off to a handful of times per month, or even permanent part-time. All options are contract-free. Whether you’re a solopreneur or manage a full-time team, the flexible workstations are suitable for all industries, professions, entrepreneurs, creatives, and established teams.

We can confirm that the lounges are as comfortable as they look.

Workshops & Events

With community and collaboration in mind, Megan and Meisha are already hard at work planning ‘The Workshop Series’, which will support local artisans and curators through regular workshops at The Studio.

The first has been confirmed for Friday, April 28 – Still Life Drawing with artist Skye LaRocca. Skye is an artist who recently moved to the area from Sydney, and we are so excited to welcome her to both the coast and The Studio Co. The event will involve the creation of a simple still life, following by a fun portrait session. Guests will also be treated to light refreshments on arrival. Details and the link to book will be shared online soon.

To stay up-to-date and see more of this stunning workspace, be sure to follow The Studio Co on Facebook and Instagram. We’ll see you there.
