Central Coast’s Best Spots this Valentine’s Day

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching, it’s time to grab your other half (or the girls) and schedule in a date.

Single or coupled, this is a day to celebrate love in all its forms. We’ve done the roundup of date ideas for next Monday, February 14. If you haven’t got plans, its time to book them in!

For the traditional romantics…

When it comes to romance, it’s hard to go wrong pairing delicious food with the company of someone you love. There’s no shortage of gourmet dining options here on the Central Coast, with some of our favourites at The Cowrie, Yellowtail, Wild Flower Bar & Dining and L’Isle de France offering multi-course premium dining options for V Day.

Crowd favourite local restaurants The Joker & Thief, Pinocchios, The Bon Pavilion, Drifters Wharf, Swells Terrigal and Hotel Gosford will also be open on Monday and a range of choices available when it comes to dinner for two.

The Wild Flower Bar & Dining is sure to impress…

For the movie lovers, the picturesque Avoca Beach Theatre will be celebrating with a special screening of My Best Friend’s Wedding (starring Julia Roberts). Further south, the nostalgic Cinema Paradiso will be showing several movies on Monday night including the new romcom, Marry Me, with Jennifer Lopez and Owen Wilson.

The outdoor lovers…

Summer on the Central Coast is a special time, with balmy nights and sea breezes offering the perfect setting for an outdoor date. Our friends at Cove Cafe have Sweetheart Picnic Basket options available to order, which include oysters, cupcakes, strawberries and bubbles. The Outlook Riding Academy are also offering couples’ horse riding experiences complete with a picnic to finish off a warm and active afternoon.

For a walk on the wild side, the Australian Reptile Park are hosting behind-the-scenes experiences for couples, with exclusive enclosure access, a personalised tour of the spider and venom rooms (complete with a milking demonstration) and animal feedings. The tour is capped off with a romantic picnic lunch of sandwiches, chocolates, cheese and more.

Other notable mentions…

The Tipsy Painter is also delivering a paint-and-sip class on Sunday, while the French Country Valentines Market is at Chertsey Primary on Saturday. Drifters Wharf will also host a special Valentine’s salsa night with Krin Bajough of Central Coast Dance Centre this Thursday (February 10).

For the singles…

Whilst we very much encourage those who are single this Valentines Day to show up to any of the above events with a friend or much loved family member instead, there are also a few events for those who are keen to mingle with other singles.

Our personal favourite this year comes courtesy of the team at Yattalunga’s Kindred Spirits Dog Cafe, who are running a singles BYO dog event. There will be live music and canapes from 430pm, and saucy glances between both pups and their humans are almost guaranteed.

A local Meetup group are also hosting a Valentine’s Eve event at Saddles Mt White – you can get your tickets here.

Wherever you are this Valentine’s Day, we hope that it is filled with love – from all of us here at the Central Coast Life & Style team ❤️
