Winter Warmers: Cosy Up With Hotel Gosford’s Winter Menu
As colder weather sets in, you might be on the hunt for somewhere cosy where you can escape the chill and enjoy a hearty meal – and you can’t beat the traditional pub atmosphere. Come inside with us at Hotel Gosford as we explore their impressive new menu.
Picture this…
You’re catching up with friends, a glass of red wine in hand, as you warm yourself by the roaring fire – and where better to do this than at the heritage-listed Hotel Gosford?
A Central Coast institution and a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, Hotel Gosford is the ideal foodie destination to savour in winter. At the heart of the hotel is Earl’s Kitchen, where Head Chef Ryan Small and his talented team produce a menu featuring delicious pub classics along with locally sourced seafood, steaks and fresh healthy salads.
In line with the new season, Ryan and the team have introduced a selection of flavoursome winter warmers to the menu – and we’re struggling to choose which to try first.
New additions include ‘classics with a twist’ plus a variety of blackboard specials that capitalise on fresh, local produce.
Think tasty pappardelle pasta dishes, perfectly cooked Sunday roasts, seasonally inspired soups and seriously indulgent desserts. The steak menu is exceptional, as is the seasonal adaptation of all of the usual Australian seafood suspects – from Tasmanian salmon, barramundi and spanner crab, to mussels, pippies and prawns. There is something here for everyone, from simple pub fare to more complex, finer dishes.
Hotel Gosford has always prided itself on supporting local business owners wherever possible and many top-quality ingredients come from Central Coast suppliers, growers and producers, including Little Creek Cheese, Coastal Providores and The Local Yolk.
And when it comes to beverages? Nothing has changed. There are still an impressive 78 taps rotating 32 different brews across all the bars, featuring all the best-known beers as well as a range of boutique and independent craft drops. For those who appreciate a glass of wine or two, there’s a variety of hand-picked labels along with an impressive cocktail list.
Just because the temperature has dropped, it doesn’t mean the fun has to stop at Hotel Gosford. There’s plenty of entertainment, weekend DJs plus Sunday sessions in the beer garden with local musicians. No matter the occasion, there’s something for everyone this winter. Our tip? Make sure you book ahead and request a table by the fireplace.
If you’re partial to a dance floor, Saturday nights are pretty impressive, too – just be sure to get in before the venue reaches capacity.
