The Coastie supplier behind some of Australia’s most incredible pools
Central Coast couple Jeff McAlister and Crystal Yu have made a big name at home and overseas for their specialist business, providing glamorous sparkling-glass finishes for designer pools.
Jewels4Pools has supplied material for some of Australia’s most beautiful pools, including multiple renovations by the well-known Three Birds, the pool at Bells at Killcare and a recent one-of-a-kind project created in Wamberal.
With their stunning 100 per cent glass product, the result is shimmering, tranquil pools that not only inspire, but create super-smooth surfaces, meaning no more scratched feet or ruined swimmers.
The team has more than 15 years’ experience using their own exclusive technology to ensure the durability and colour of the glass. The 100 per cent glass finish comes in a range of colour combinations to suit any pool design, or it can be custom blended for that individual look. The finish can also be used to re-finish older pools.

Jeff is the inventor, and he has been in the pool industry for more than 40 years. Beginning his career in 1978, he has worked extensively across all product types using a variety of application methods that have revolutionised the pool industry.
In 2005, Jeff was working at his quartz mine in China, testing a silica product to turn into glass with colour for swimming pools, when he met his future wife, Crystal. The couple moved back to Australia six months later and in 2007 started Jewels4Pools.
Based in West Gosford, Crystal specialises in the marketing of the business, customer service and liaising with builders and architects to help clients with their overall design.

As well as raising a son, Temujin (Temmy), who is now 10, Crystal and Jeff have been involved in numerous exciting projects over the years, including supplying product for several pools featured by Three Birds.
Three Birds Renovations is run by ‘three besties and busy mums’ who transform homes, inspiring and empowering women anywhere in the world to turn their renovating dreams into reality.
Bonnie, Lana and Erin have amassed a huge following over the years, renovating a whopping 14 homes together. Bonnie’s personal home is a truly special property, all white with water views from every room, strategically placed palm trees and a balmy ice-blue pool to rival the most luxurious of beachside resorts.
One of their more recent projects features a magnificent infinity-edge pool with glass bead interior, created by Concept Pools in collaboration with Jewels4Pools. The result is an incredible relaxed outdoor haven that exudes coastal holiday vibes with luxe resort touches.

“We are the very last people to come in, so all the tiling, paving and fencing needs to be installed,” Crystal explains.
“The majority of concrete pools on the Central Coast have finishes by Jewels4Pools.
“Once on site, our glass is mixed together with cement and our exclusive Geo-Polymer, and hand-trowelled onto the pool surface for a smooth finish. Once a certain drying time has been reached, a water sprayer is used to expose the beautiful glass underneath. After a light acid wash, the pool can be filled and is ready to swim in.
“We advise clients to select the interior colour in conjunction with waterline tiles. This is often done through social media, over email and in our West Gosford showroom, where we have large samples.
“Ultra is our new product line, designed to be super-smooth and it offers an easier application process with no exposing necessary. It comes in a range of colours that are similar to the Original finish but with a finer grade of glass.”
Willoughby Road pool
Jewels4Pools worked on a magnificent Castle Hill project (also in collaboration with Concept Pools) that appeared in a recent episode of Nine Life’s Australia’s Best Pools.
On a local level, they supplied the material for one of Wamberal’s most spectacular outdoor renovations on Willoughby Road. Recently selling for a record price, the property features a sparkling heated pool and whirlpool spa with bar seating wrapping around a covered, heated pergola area.
And it isn’t just within Australia that Jewels4Pools is providing their gorgeous product. It is a worldwide company, that has created tens of thousands of pools throughout multiple countries over the past 15 years.
