Seasalt: Fine Dining with a View
There’s something about restaurants in hotels. So often you think they’re just for the guests – touristy places. But there is no reason why locals and non-guests should miss out on the winner of the best regional restaurant in a hotel at the 2019 Restaurant & Catering Awards For Excellence.
The beautiful Seasalt restaurant is located inside Terrigal’s Crowne Plaza and contemplates a spectacular ocean view.
With large glass windows offering expansive views over Terrigal Beach, the restaurant has one of the best vantage points on the Coast. Through the town’s trademark pines, we watch the waves roll in as dusk settles over the Tasman Sea.
Inside is a grand affair perfect for special occasions. With columns, natural tones, and well-spaced white-clothed tables, the setting is contemporary and elegant.
A professional fleet of wait staff in crisp white shirts and black aprons cruise around the restaurant topping up our bubbles just at the right time: Chandon, or if you’re ‘happy, sad, alone or just thirsty’ like Lily, there’s Bollinger.
As a hotel with repeat guests, Chefs Simon Quick and Dana Chantler have the challenge of creating a brand spanking new menu every summer.
They’ve met the challenge head-on this season with inventive dishes including cider-braised pork cheek on fried bread, torched scampi and savoury baklava filled with lemony ricotta.
For a truly Aussie finish, tuck into the smashed pav with silky rolls of vanilla cream and fresh berries. The picturesque location also hosts decadent high teas with a new chocolate and champagne offering now available.
